||| Ingredients |
||| 1 1/2 C All-purpose flour |
||| 1 C Sugar |
||| 4 TBSP Cocoa powder |
||| 1 TSP baking soda |
||| 1/2 TSP salt |
||| 6 TBSP Vegetable oil |
||| 1 TBSP white vinegar |
||| 1 TSP vanilla extract |
||| 1 C Water |
||| |
||| Instructions |
||| Combine sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt together. Add |
||| oil, vinegar, vanilla and water. Put in greased 8x8 pan and bake at |
||| 350 F for appoximately 35 minutes. Frost if desired. |
||| |
||| |
||| This depression era cake is Alli's favourite. The lack of milk, |
||| eggs or butter is what makes it "wacky." Very moist, very tasty. |

____________________________________________/ Pizza Burgers \
/| |
||| Ingredients |
||| Ground beef or turkey, shaped into patty |
||| Marinara sauce |
||| Gouda, sliced is preferred |
||| Grated Parmesan cheese |
||| Oregano |
||| Thyme |
||| Garlic powder |
||| Hamburger bun |
||| |
||| Instructions |
||| Season patty with the spices and top with marinara. Bake in 400 |
||| degree oven until meat is fully cooked. Sprinkle with Parmesan and |
||| top with gouda. Return to oven to melt gouda. Serve on bun with |
||| extra marinara on top. |
||| |
||| I built this recipe from the ground up based on how I felt |
||| a pizza burger should be. I do not care for the crumbly |
||| loose meat style ones most people seem to make. |

/| |

||| Hot dog or hamburger buns |
||| Ground beef or turkey, cooked & crumbled |
||| Marinara sauce |
||| Butter or margarine |
||| Garlic powder |
||| Provolone cheese, sliced or shredded |
||| |
||| Instructions |
||| Open the buns, spread with butter, sprinkle with garlic and toast. |
||| Spread sauce on bun, top with ground meat and then more sauce. |
||| Bake until hot throughout, about 15 minutes. Add cheese and return |
||| to over until melted. |
||| |
||| They used to serve these at school, this is a good way to |
||| use up extra buns. |

____________________________________________/ Berry Trifle \
/| |
||| Ingredients |
||| Fresh berries |
||| Pound cake |
||| Vanilla pudding |
||| Whipped cream or cool white |
||| Fruit jelly, jam or preserves |
||| |
||| Instructions |
||| Chop the berries if needed. Chop the pound cake into chunks. Layer |
||| ingredients into a tall glass in this order: cake, jelly, pudding, |
||| cool whip, and berries. Repeat until the glass if full (usually |
||| twice). Any leftovers can be tossed together to be eaten another |
||| night. |
||| |
||| I like this with strawberries, raspberries and/or |
||| blueberries. The pudding should be runny, like a thin |
||| custard. |

____________________________________________/ Jello Eggs \
/| |
||| Ingredients |
||| 1 Package Jello mix |
||| 1/2 cup boiling water |
||| 1/2 cup cold water |
||| Whipped cream or cool whip |
||| |
||| Instructions |
||| Microwave 1/2 cup of water until boiling, carefully add jello mix, it |
||| will foam! Whisky very VERY well--for more than a minute. Top with |
||| cold water and whisk a little more. Pour mixture into deviled egg |
||| holder and chill until solid.Repeat with additional colors as |
||| desired. |
||| |
||| Once cool, add a dollop or whipped cream or cool whip. |
||| |
||| Jello and cool whip are always a great combination, Thank you to |

____________________________________________/ Kool-aid Popsicles \
/| |
||| Ingredients |
||| 1 Packet Kool-aid |
||| 1 quart water |
||| 1 cup sugar |
||| |
||| Instructions |
||| 1. Mix all ingredients together. |
||| 2. Pour into popsicle trays. |
||| 3. Freeze. |
||| |
||| |
||| |
||| I think this is an official recipe, I remember coming across it once. |
||| It's basically Frozen kool-aid, but at double strength. I used to use |
||| those small plastic tupperware tumblers to make these in, with a |
||| spoon frozen in to act as the stick. An ice cube tray works well too. |
||| Using some foil or plastic wrap to cover an unorthodox container will |
||| give you something to to keep the stick in place. |

||| 1/2c Corn syrup |
||| 1/4c Water |
||| 1 pkt Kool-aid |

||| Instructions |

||| 2. Looking but not touching, summer the solution until it reaches |
||| 300 degrees. |
||| 3. Mix thekool-aid with a tiny bit of water and carefully until |
||| combined. Remember, your solution it very hot! |
||| 4. If adding any more volatile ingredients, stir the candy until |
||| reaches 240. |
||| 5. Pour solution into a 8"x8" pan lined with parchment paper. |
||| 6. Once cool enough to hold it's shaped, carefully remove the candy |
||| and waxpaper from the pan. The candy is still very hot! |

||| |
||| My buddy and I came up with this recipe for his family's winter |
||| gathering. It was a huge hit so we made using it turkey bacon the |
||| next time we had supper together and it was a big hit all over |
||| again. Highly recommended. |
||| |
||| Letover sauce works well with chicken, and on burgers if paired with |

____________________________________________/ Crockpot Taco Dip \
/| |
||| Ingredients |
||| 1 block Velveta cheese |
||| Milk |
||| 1 packet Taco seasoning |
||| 1 lb. Ground sausage, fully cooked |
||| 1 can Ro-tel, drained (optional) |
||| Tortilla chips |
||| |
||| Instructions |
||| 1. Cube up the velveta and put into crockpot. |
||| 2. Add taco seasoning, sausage, Ro-tel (if used), and milk. Be |
||| careful not to add too much milk. |
||| 3. Set crockpot to medium heat and cover. |
||| 4. Stir every 15 minutes. until the Velveta is fully melted. reduce |
||| heat to low or warm. The dip is now ready to be consumed with |
||| tortilla chips. |
||| |
||| This dip is delicious, but can be salty. You can sub cumin paprika, |
||| and garlic powder for the taco seasoning to avoid extra sodium. |
||| |

____________________________________________/ Velveta Nachos \
/| |
||| Ingredients |
||| Velveta cheese |
||| Milk |
||| Taco seasoning |
||| Tortilla chips |
||| |
||| Instructions |
||| 1. Cube up some of the velveta and put in a microwave safe bowl. |
||| 2. Add milk. Be careful, it is easy to add too much. |
||| 3. Microwave for a minutes, stir. If the velveta does mix in fully, |
||| microwave longer. |
||| 4. Add some taco seasoning. Again, be carefull to not use too much. |
||| 5. Serve on tortila chips with any extras you like, such as |
||| jalepenos, tomatoes, or even olives if you like gross things. |
||| |
||| Quick, easy, delicious. If taco seasoning is too salty, sub with |
||| cumin, paprika, and garlic powder (not salt). If your sauce seems |
||| thin right out of the microwave, take heart: it thickens after |
||| cooling just a bit. I prefer the cheese sauce on the thin side so it |
||| so it soaks into the chips. |

||| 2. Butter toast while still hot. |

||| 5. Build log cabin by placing two of the toast pieces on a plate |
||| parellel with each other, a couple inches apart. |
||| 6. Place two more pieces atop, in the opposite diretion. Like so: # |
||| 7. Top with the last two pieces, the same direction as bottom layer. |
||| 8. Create snow effect by dusting with powdered sugar and/or cocaine. |
||| |
||| I first made this recipe when I was in grade school. I had it often |
||| as a late snack. Highly recommended for youngsters, as long as you |
||| leave the coke for the adults. |

/ Figgy Pudding (1773) \____________________________________________
/| Side 2 |
||| |
||| |
||| I quite enjoyed this dense, traditional bread pudding. Plum pudding |
||| is another name for it. Neither figs nor plums are traditionally |
||| used; "figgy" and "plum" both used to mean dried fruit. Raisins are |
||| the go-to fruit for the dish. |
||| |
||| You can grind and toast your own crumbs if you have breads that need |
||| up. |
||| |
||| You can bake (as printed on other side), boil or steam. Boiling and |
||| steamingboth involve tying the pudding up tightly in a flour or |
||| cheesecloth, placing in both with a plate under it to prevent |
||| burning.For steaming, just cover the plate with water and change |
||| after the first hour to prevent scalding. For boiling, completely |
||| submeerge the pudding. Both ook for aroundfour hours at a slow boil. |
||| |
||| Serve with soft sauce, a pourable carmel popular during the same |
||| time period. |
||| |

____________________________________________/ Soft Sauce \
/| Side 1 |
||| Ingredients |
||| 1 cup Sugar |
||| 1/4 cup Water |
||| 6 tbsp Butter, chopped |
||| 1/2 cup Heavy cream, warmed |
||| 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract |
||| Pinch of salt |
||| |
||| Instructions |
||| 1. Warm the heavy cream and chop the butter. |
||| 2. In a medium, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar and water. |
||| 3. Stir over medium heat until it looks like wet sand and the sugar |
||| begins to bubble. |
||| 4. Once boiling, stop stirring. You can swirl the pan gently for |
||| even cooking. |
||| 5. Cook until golden, around 6-10 minutes. |
||| 6. Remove the pan from the heat. |
||| 7. Carefully but quickly, whisk in butter pieces until melted and |
||| combined. |
||| |
|||_______________________________________________________________________|

/ Soft Sauce \____________________________________________
/| Side 2 |
||| |
||| 8. Stir in salt. |
||| 9. Continuing to whisk, slowly pour in the warm heavy cream. The |
||| mixture may bubble up vigorously. Whisk until smooth. |
||| 10. Stir in vanilla. |
||| |
||| |
||| |
||| |
||| |
||| |
||| |
||| Quite nice, tastes like Werther's candies. I used margarine instead |
||| of butter which worked well enough, but the sauce does break when it |
||| cools down. It does whisk back togeter nicely when reheated. |
||| |
